Hunger games reflection

 What we have learned today:
We learned that hunger games is a very dangerous and brutal game and survival is very hard since there are other tributes out to kill you and it is hard to live in the wilderness. There will be smart people who will seem mean and betray you at first but in the end, they come through like Peeta Meelark. There are people who will team up with you in an alliance.
Connection:
In the book, the characters are similar to those in the real world. Because there are people who are rich, people who are poor. There are the weak, kind ones and there are the mean, built ones. The setting is different because it is split into districts, and there are capitals who will overpower the rest.
Author's style:
It's in the present tense, though it sometimes has flashbacks. It's from the point of Katniss, so we don't really know about the other perspectives of the characters. It's an amazing read, because I never want to put the book down, I want to keep reading it.
Genre:
adventure, action and romance
 Recommendation:
I would recommend it to everyone, all genders and ages. It's not bias and it's a page- turner. I guarantee you will love it.

Reflect on Hazards Fair

What went well
The kids were really interested in the tornado in a bottle and they found it fascinating. They all wanted to have a go at spinning it themselves, and they know how a tornado looks like and moves. We were able to answer the questions that were asked by both the kids and adults by the poster and flyers.

What could have been better
The tornado in a bottle was leaking too much even though it worked quite well, we could've taped it more securely. We also could have printed more flyers, as there wasn't enough for all the adults and they requested to have one.

Describe the experience
It was quite a good way to interact between other people from different ages, by the hands on activity and by the poster. It was nice to see the audience's reaction and enthusiasm to our activities. By doing this hazards fair, we improved our presentation skills as more people kept coming each time and by testing ourselves by answering questions and sharing our information about tornadoes.

ELP Hazards Topic and S.C

I will choose tornadoes because I have already work on some of the information on my Hazards Fair, therefore it would be easier for me. I have already gathered the basics on tornadoes like what causes it and what to do before, during and after it occurs. I just need to add more information into the brochure template like what should be in the emergency kit and the different areas that tornadoes are most likely to take place, and also the contact information in the region.

Success Criteria
1. To be able to extend and generate ideas
2. To be able to plan and research information and data
3. To describe and explain with reasonings and evidence

What needs to be Improved on our Tornado Project

When we got the feedback, everyone said that everything was good. Our presentation was informative and our hands on activity was creative and fun. But one thing we should improve is the leaking of the tornado in a bottle. We need to tape it more securely to prevent it from leaking. Other than that, our group presentation on tornadoes is good.

Review of Othello Court Case

How I think I preformed
I think I preformed quite well in making and presenting my speech and alright at defending as I argued a bit to the accusation and they had nothing else to say. I listed out all the points and reasons as to why I think Desdemona was innocent and only two people had something to say when attacking, which proves that my speech was clear enough to persuade and to convince others.

How we could have better prepared as a group
As a group I think we should have gotten together and discussed more about our character. Instead of just working on our own part, maybe we should have helped others who needed some points. We could have peer reviewed each other so we can help improve to make our character seem more innocent.

How I could have better prepared
Instead of just listing the reasons why Desdemona was innocent, I could have found more than just one quote to prove the evidence. Then people would have been refreshed to that incident of the story.

Describe what you still have to prepare to finalize your project by tomorrow.

For our tornado group, we still need to do the hands-on activity which is the tornado in a bottle and we still need to do our flyer to hand out and attract viewers at the science fair.
We need to buy the equipments and test out the experiment to make sure it works. We need to make and print out colourful copies of the flyers.
Since each of the three of us were assigned a job, mine was to find information and pictures to put on the poster which I have already finished. I just need to add a few finishing touches and glue things on.
